Once prep work has been completed and approved, and both parties are happy to start with your new extension, a number of steps will be followed from start to finish…
Extension Foundations
The first step of any home extension will include the preparation of foundations. This initial process is highly important to ensure your new extension will sit safely in its designated place.
Foundations will vary depending on a number of factors including soil type, ground conditions, the type and size of the extension and the architectural design. Our building inspector will ensure your new extension is built on solid foundations.
Brickwork
Once your foundation is prepared, the next step will be to begin your brickwork. Again, this will be overseen and approved by our building inspector to ensure that damp proofing has been permitted. The time frame for this step of your extension will vary depending on the size, positioning and end look goals.
Demolition and Structural Reinforcement
After your brickwork has been completed, our team will then begin the demolition of your existing structure. Structural reinforcements will be put in place to support the building while your new extension and old structure is united. Please be reassured that your home will be safe and secure throughout this time.
Roofing and Flooring
Once the external shell of your new extension is completed and is secure, our team will work to fit a weather-proof roof, fully enclosing your property, along with preparing and installing new flooring.
Internal Construction
The next step in building your extension will include internal construction. This will include the installation of pipes and plumbing points, electricity and heating, along with building and skimming the internal walls. Once this preparation work has been completed, your extension will be ready for new features.
Fitting the Extension
Once our team are happy with the functionality of the internal construction, work on the interior of your extension will begin. This will include the installation of your worktops, Kitchen islands, showers, flooring and doors.
